How to Configure Logo Printing Functions in Tally ERP 9
There are total 3 logo printing functions which you need to configure in tally before you can see your own logo on your invoices and other professional documents.
They are:
- Location of your logo
- Format of the logo
- Size of the logo
First we will look at the location of your company logo in tally. It is the location of your computer at which your logo’s image file is stored.
There is really an easy way to find the exact location of your logo and put it in tally. Let me show you.
In the above image, there is an image with the name – tally logo. It is the actual company logo that I want to have on my invoices and other professional documents.
Similarly, you have to put your own logo image that you want on your invoices.
You can also see the location of the image, which I have written down in the image and that is what you have to fill up in option – location of logo in tally.

You can click on the blue bordered part in the image in your computer and you will get the location of the logo.
You have to enter the name of the image of your logo at the end of the path of your location of image in tally.
So, now you have to enter the entire path from your computer in tally manually. You cannot copy the path and paste it in tally.
Here is how I have done. Look at the image below and you will understand exactly how to enter the location of your logo.

After you have entered the exact path of the location of your logo, press Enter and then again press Enter to save the settings.
How to Configure Logo Printing Size and Format
There is a specific image size in which you have put your logo so that it can be printed correctly on the invoices, orders and other professional documents.
The size that is recommended by tally for logo printing is 96 pixels in width and 80 pixels in height. It is exactly the size what you see in the image below.

Format of the image of the logo can only be either JPG or BMP. Tally will not accept any other image format for the logo in tally.
You can easily take your image and convert it into required size and format.
Just google it and you will find thousands of websites where you can change the size and format for your logo completely for free.
What if logo path specified is invalid or file not found in tally
Since you have to enter the path to the location of the logo manually, there are chances of errors which can occur.
There are 3 types of errors that generally arise when you try to have your logo.
Firstly, the error will be about logo path specified is invalid or file not found. This error arise because of 3 reasons.
You have not entered the correct path which can be possible since you have to manually enter the path to the location of your logo.
Please check the path to the location of your logo and see if there is any mismatch in the actual path and the path that you have entered.
Secondly, if the path is correct, then look at the image file of your logo. The supported formats are JPG and BMP.
Chances are you might have the format of the image as PNG which is most commonly used format for images now a days.
Check the format of the image of your logo.
Thirdly, if the format and the path are correct, please check that while entering the path, you also have to specify the format of the image along with the name of the image.
Have a look at the image below.

At the end of the path to the location of the company logo, you can clearly see that I have written the format of the image along with the name of the image.
It is tally logo.jpg and if your image is in a BMP format the name will be tally logo.bmp.
Other than this, there cannot be any errors while you print your own logo.
